Luke’s Boatyard

Paul E. Luke, Inc.Linekin BayEast Boothbay, ME

A working boatyard on Linekin Bay, over 80 years and three generations of it. We haul, store, repair and launch boats, and we still build our own propellers and anchors in the shop out back.

What the yard does

Linekin Bay from the air, with the boatyard's docks and moored boats along the East Boothbay shore.

Winter storage

Haul-out runs August into September, and the yard fills up in the order people call. If she is coming out this fall, now is the time to get on the list.

Made here, not ordered in

Feathering propellers have been made in this shop since 1960, and the storm anchors are cast from US ductile iron and galvanized. Same phone number for more than 75 years.

Over one hundred vessels have slid down the ways into Linekin Bay: lobster boats, power cruisers, and sailboats in wood and aluminum.

Who is in the yard

From the mooring field

  • Rick Spears
The Luke family treats you right. Good moorings and they have a very experienced yard crew. Left our boat here for a month on the hard and we know it is in good hands.
  • Captain Jupiter
This venerable family run boatyard has nice big rental moorings in a quiet location. These heavy, well spaced moorings are a welcome alternative to the bustle of Boothbay.
  • DFCain
Our boats winter here, as do a few of my cousin's. You will not meet a nicer family and their knowledge and skills are without peer in the area. Frank and Andrew are terrific.
